Best AI visibility tools in 2026: GEO tools compared on facts

AI visibility tools measure how often ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers mention your brand, where you rank against competitors in those answers, and which websites the answers cite. Among the tools in this comparison, paid entry plans ran from €49 a month (€29 at Hypervisible's launch price) to $300 on pricing pages read in October 2026. The bigger differences sit in which engines and countries each plan covers, and in how often it checks.

We make Hypervisible, so it comes first in this comparison, and here are the facts it rests on. Hypervisible, the software we build at NEXUS GEO, starts at €29 a month for the first 15 accounts, then €49, with five engines in each plan: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Every other price and feature below comes from the vendor's own website, and our own row follows the same rule, limits included.

What an AI visibility tool measures

An AI visibility tool sends a fixed list of questions to AI assistants on a schedule and records whether your brand shows up in the answers. The questions are called prompts, and nearly every vendor prices by them.

From those answers, most tools report a similar set of numbers:

  • Mention or citation rate. The share of answers that name your brand. If ChatGPT names you in 12 answers out of 40, your rate on ChatGPT is 30%.
  • Position. Where your name sits in the answer. Being named first among five recommended firms beats being named fifth, and a good tool tells you which one you got.
  • Share of voice. Your mentions against your competitors' on the same answers. Our guide to AI share of voice covers the formula.
  • Sources. The pages and domains the AI cited. Often the most useful column, because it shows which review sites and directories shape the answer.
  • Sentiment. What the answer says about you, and in what tone.

Some vendors call this an AI rank tracker, others an AEO or GEO platform. The mechanics are the same. If you want the definitions and benchmarks first, read what AI visibility is and what a good score looks like.

AI answers change from one session to the next, even for the same question asked minutes apart. A single screenshot of ChatGPT recommending a competitor proves very little. A tool earns its fee by asking the same questions again and again, so that a rise or a fall reflects a real shift rather than a lucky draw. That matters more than how the dashboard looks.

Which questions you track matters too. A prompt that names your business tells you what the AI says about you. A prompt that doesn't, such as “best plumber in Tucson for a water heater replacement”, tells you whether the AI recommends you at all, and that second kind is the one that brings in new customers. Check how a tool separates the two before you trust its headline score.

The big SEO suites now sell this kind of tracking as well. Our roundup of AI SEO tools that also track AI answers looks at them from the SEO side.

How to compare AI visibility tools

Compare AI visibility tools on five things, in this order: the engines your customers use, the number of prompts the price buys, how often each prompt runs, the countries and languages covered, and the seats included.

Engines

Every tool in our table tracks ChatGPT. After that, coverage splits. Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode are separate products that can cite different pages for one query, and entry plans don't always cover both. Hypervisible includes both in every plan, as do SE Visible and Scrunch. If AI Overviews are your main concern, our AI Overviews tracker page shows what that tracking looks like. Similarweb's tracker lists AI Mode but not AI Overviews, and SE Visible's plans leave out Perplexity.

Claude is tracked by Scrunch on every plan and by AthenaHQ from its Starter plan, which lists 11 engines, Grok, DeepSeek and Mistral among them. Hypervisible doesn't track Claude or Copilot. Read the engine list of the plan you would buy. A logo on a homepage can turn out to be an add-on.

Prompts, and how they are counted

Vendors count usage in different units, which makes sticker prices hard to compare. Hypervisible (which calls them questions), Scrunch, SE Visible and Similarweb sell a number of prompts. AthenaHQ sells credits, one credit being one AI response, so its Starter plan buys 3,600 responses a month.

The fair comparison is answers per month. On Hypervisible Solo, 25 questions on five engines come to 125 answers per Monday reading, or 500 to 625 a month depending on how many Mondays the month has. Ask every vendor on your shortlist for the same figure, written down.

Frequency

Hypervisible takes its reading every Monday, on the same questions each week. SE Visible and Similarweb check daily. The Scrunch and AthenaHQ pages we read did not state a frequency.

Daily data shows a sudden drop sooner, which counts during a product launch or a bad news cycle. Weekly data on a fixed set of questions is enough to follow a trend, and single answers move around from day to day anyway. Our view: pick daily if you need to react within 24 hours, weekly if you report to a boss or a client once a month.

Countries and languages

This is where vendor pages say the least. Hypervisible reads four countries (the US, the UK, France, Germany) and writes its questions in the local language, English, French or German. SE Visible lists seven countries (the US, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain) and five languages. AthenaHQ's Starter plan works at country level and keeps multi-region and multi-language tracking for Enterprise. Scrunch and Similarweb did not state coverage on the pages we read. If you sell in both the US and the UK, ask for both markets in writing before you sign.

Seats

Hypervisible's Pro plan includes 5 users and Business 15. Similarweb's three AEO plans include one user each. Scrunch's Starter plan comes with 3 seats, and each extra seat is $25 a month. For a marketing team, a cheap plan with a single login can cost more than it looks once everyone needs access.

Comparison table: engines tracked, frequency, languages, price

The table shows what each vendor's site said on October 22, 2026, checked again on October 29. Where a page didn't say, we wrote “not stated” instead of guessing. For every plan and billing option, our AI visibility tools pricing guide goes tier by tier.

Prices read on official websites on October 22 and October 29, 2026.

Prices are monthly, in the currency each site showed. Hypervisible and SE Visible bill in euros. Hypervisible's entry plan costs €49 against €80 for SE Visible Basic, and it adds Perplexity, which SE Visible leaves out. The three dollar plans start at $129, $295 and $300 a month when billed monthly.

Why Hypervisible comes first in this comparison

Hypervisible sits at the top on four facts, checked on October 22, 2026, with the other vendors' prices read again on October 29. We make it, so judge them for yourself.

  • Five engines on the entry plan. Solo costs €29 a month for the first 15 accounts, then €49, with all five included. In this comparison, SE Visible starts at €80 with four engines and no Perplexity, Similarweb at $129 ($99 billed annually), AthenaHQ Starter at $295 and Scrunch at $300. And starting costs nothing: the free analysis reads 50 answers from the five engines, with no card and no trial clock running.
  • Both Google answers. AI Overviews and AI Mode can cite different pages for one query, and every plan reads both.
  • Four markets, three languages. American, British, French and German answers, from questions drafted in each market's language. The product itself runs in English (hypervisible.app) and in French (hypervisible.fr).
  • Built by a GEO-only agency. Martin Noale set up NEXUS GEO in Marly-le-Roi, France, in January 2026; his public 47-criterion grid for AI visibility and roughly a hundred guides sit on nexus-geo.fr. Before that came several years of B2B brand-visibility work abroad, in China, the US, Hong Kong and Singapore. He also belongs to the Chinese Business Club, a Paris club Harold Parisot started in 2012 that now counts 130 member companies.

Its limits: one reading a week, every Monday, no Claude or Copilot, and a product that launched recently. To see the report before paying, try the free AI visibility analysis: 10 questions go to the five engines, and all 50 answers are analyzed in 5 to 10 minutes, without a credit card.

The other tools in this comparison, vendor by vendor

The other four tools follow in the order of the table, each described from its own site.

SE Visible (SE Ranking)

SE Visible is SE Ranking's AI visibility product. Basic starts at €80 a month (€64 billed yearly) for 75 prompts and 5 projects, and Core costs €169, in euros on October 29, 2026. It tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews daily, with no Perplexity on that page, in seven countries and five languages. The trial lasts 10 days. SE Ranking's SEO plans also include AI tracking: 25 prompts a day in 5 AI engines on Core, at €109 a month, according to its pricing page reread on October 30, 2026.

Similarweb

Similarweb's AEO Intelligence plan costs $129 a month, or $99 a month billed annually, for 150 tracked prompts, one user and three months of history. The tracker covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity, and updates daily. The plan also includes AI Traffic reporting, which suits teams that want visibility and visits in one place.

AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ Starter costs $295 a month for 3,600 credits, one credit being one AI response, across 11 engines including AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. Yearly billing takes 17% off. Starter works at country level; multi-region and multi-language tracking sits in Enterprise.

Scrunch

Scrunch's Starter plan is $300 a month, or $250 a month billed annually, with 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, 3 personas and 3 seats. Growth costs $500 for 700 prompts and 5 seats. Every plan tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Meta. The 7-day trial doesn't ask for a credit card. For lower entry prices, see Scrunch AI alternatives.

Measuring is only half the job: what Hypervisible gives you to improve

An AI visibility tool tells you where you stand. Getting cited more often takes work on what the AIs read. We make Hypervisible, and here is what it hands you to act on:

  • The sites the AIs cite on your questions: comparison pages, review sites, videos, forums. Those are the pages where your brand needs to be named.
  • What the AIs say about your brand, and in what tone. An old address or a wrong price gets fixed on your site and your listings.
  • Who gets cited in your place, question by question.
  • The change in points every Monday, so you can tell whether an action worked.
  • A team that can review your tracking and fit it to your market, from the questions to the competitors.

Its limit: Hypervisible measures and shows where to act. It doesn't write your content, and it doesn't get other sites to cite you. For the deeper work (content, site structure, structured data, a presence on the sources the AIs read, reviews), a GEO agency works alongside the brand. That is the job of NEXUS GEO, the agency that makes Hypervisible, which means us.

SEO moves a page up Google's list of links. GEO gets a brand named and cited inside an AI's answer. The two work together, since AI Overviews and AI Mode draw on indexed pages. AI assistants also read forums, videos, reviews and comparison pages, though, and they answer with brand names, so the methods and the metrics differ. GEO has its own subtleties, and they take time to learn.

AI visibility tools for small businesses

A small business needs a short list of questions on the engines its customers use, at a price it can keep paying for a year. Start with a free check, then pick a plan under $100 a month.

The free check tells you whether there's a problem worth paying to track. Hypervisible's free AI visibility analysis asks 10 questions to five AIs (5 about your industry that don't name you, 5 that do), reads all 50 answers within 5 to 10 minutes, and needs no credit card. It reports the same measures as a paid plan: citation rate, average position, standing against competitors, the domains the AIs link to, and how they describe you, tone included. Scrunch and SE Visible offer trials of 7 and 10 days.

Take an HVAC company with three locations around Phoenix. Its customers ask ChatGPT for “same-day AC repair in Scottsdale” or “best HVAC company in Mesa for a heat pump install”. Twenty questions that pair a service with a city cover most of its market. The five left in Hypervisible Solo can name the company, to check what the AIs say about its hours and service area. Each Monday reading then shows whether it gains ground on the two or three rivals that keep getting named instead.

Which plan comes next depends on your business:

  • A local service business, say a dental practice in Austin or a roofer in Dallas, can usually cover its market with 15 to 25 questions built around the city and the service. Hypervisible Solo tracks 25 questions on five engines, weekly, for €29 a month for the first 15 accounts, then €49, with one brand and 8 competitors. SE Visible Basic tracks 75 prompts daily on four engines for €80, without Perplexity.
  • Online stores and software companies with several product lines may need 100 prompts or more. Hypervisible Pro covers 3 brands with 40 questions each for €149. Similarweb AEO Intelligence offers 150 prompts for $129 with one user. Ask each vendor how many answers you get per month.

If a tool you're looking at sells AI Mode or Gemini as add-ons, our page on alternatives to add-on pricing does the math. If a vendor asks you to pick three engines from a list, this guide to pick-three plans and their alternatives shows what each extra engine costs.

The questions customers ask AI differ a lot by trade. We've written guides for:

  • Law firms
  • Dentists
  • Medical practices
  • Real estate agents and brokerages
  • Restaurants
  • Hotels
  • Home services: HVAC, plumbers, roofers
  • Recruitment and staffing agencies
  • SaaS companies

For the basics, start with how customers find small businesses in ChatGPT.

AI visibility tools for agencies

An agency should price a tool per client: count brands, prompts per brand and seats, then check whether the output can go to the client as it is.

Hypervisible's Pro plan, at €149 a month, covers 3 brands with 40 questions each, 10 competitors, 5 users and 4 on-demand readings a month. Business, at €449, covers 10 brands, 15 competitors, 15 users and 20 on-demand readings. Billed yearly, they come to €119 and €369 a month. Clients in the US, the UK, France and Germany are covered, with questions in English, French or German.

Work out the cost per client before anything else. A Denver marketing agency with ten local clients pays under €45 per brand a month on Hypervisible Business, Monday report included. Plans built around projects are easy to resell too: SE Visible Agency covered 30 projects and 1,000 prompts for €355 on October 29, 2026. Scrunch Growth gives 700 prompts and 5 seats for $500.

Decide what the client will see every month before you choose. Our guide to AI visibility reporting for agencies lists what belongs in that report, and a one-off AI visibility audit gives you a baseline to report against.

AI visibility tools for enterprise teams

Enterprise teams usually need more engines, several countries and languages, single sign-on and an API. Most vendors sell that combination on custom pricing, after a demo.

Hypervisible publishes its top price instead: Business costs €449 a month (€369 billed yearly) for 10 brands, 15 competitors, 15 users and 20 on-demand readings, across four markets. It fits an enterprise team when weekly readings on five engines answer the question being asked; teams that need Claude, Copilot or daily data should look at the tools below.

Scrunch's Enterprise plan includes its Data API and single sign-on, and every Scrunch plan tracks Claude. AthenaHQ keeps multi-region and multi-language tracking for Enterprise. Similarweb puts AI visibility next to AI Traffic, so a team can follow mentions and the visits that come from AI platforms in the same product.

If a contract signed after a demo is more than you need, our guide to self-serve alternatives to demo-only platforms lists plans you can buy online. Teams that already work in an SEO suite can read what the AI toolkit of a large SEO suite measures, and the page on prompt indexes and their alternatives covers benchmarks of a whole category.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best AI visibility tools?

We recommend starting with Hypervisible, which we make: its entry plan includes ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode for €29 a month for the first 15 accounts, then €49, across four markets. Teams that need daily data or Claude can compare the other tools in this comparison, SE Visible, Similarweb, AthenaHQ and Scrunch. In October 2026, their paid entry plans ran from €80 a month (SE Visible Basic) to $300 (Scrunch Starter).

Are GEO tools the same as AI visibility tools?

Mostly, yes. GEO stands for generative engine optimization, the work of getting a brand cited in AI answers, and a GEO tool is the software that measures it: which questions name you, which sites the AIs cite, who shows up instead of you. Every tool in this comparison fits both names. What a GEO tool doesn't do is the optimization itself; that part is content, sources and reputation work, done by your team or an agency.

How much does an AI visibility tool cost?

Hypervisible Solo costs €29 a month for the first 15 accounts, then €49, with all five engines included. On pricing pages read October 29, 2026, the other tools in this comparison started at €80 a month for SE Visible Basic, $129 for Similarweb AEO Intelligence ($99 billed annually), $295 for AthenaHQ Starter and $300 for Scrunch Starter. Enterprise plans are mostly priced on request. Check what one prompt buys, since vendors count prompts and credits differently.

Which AI engines should a tool track?

At minimum ChatGPT and Google's AI answers, meaning AI Overviews and AI Mode, which appear inside Google Search. Gemini and Perplexity come next for most markets. Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek or Meta AI matter if your buyers use them, and only some plans include them. Look at the engine list of the plan you would buy: SE Visible, for example, leaves out Perplexity, and Similarweb lists AI Mode without AI Overviews.

Is there a free AI visibility checker?

Yes. Hypervisible's free analysis asks 10 questions to five AIs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode), reads the 50 answers in 5 to 10 minutes, needs no credit card and keeps the results in your account. Scrunch offers a 7-day trial without a card, and SE Visible a 10-day trial. A one-off check shows where you stand today; tracking shows whether it changes.

Can a tool guarantee citations?

No. An AI visibility tool measures whether AI answers mention and cite your brand; it has no say in what ChatGPT or Gemini write. You can work on getting cited, through clear pages, structured data, reviews and a presence on the sites the AIs already cite, and measure the results over time. Answers vary from one session to the next, so no serious vendor promises a fixed place, just as on Google.

Is daily or weekly tracking better?

Hypervisible, which we make, takes one reading every Monday on the same questions: a weekly series is enough to follow a trend and report it once a month, at a lower price. Daily tracking spots a sudden change sooner, which helps during a product launch, a recall or a press story. SE Visible and Similarweb check daily.

Is an AI visibility tool enough to get cited?

No. Hypervisible, which we make, measures your presence and shows where to act: the sites the AIs cite, what they say about you, who gets named in your place, and the change every Monday. It doesn't write your content or get other sites to cite you. That deeper work falls to your team or to a GEO agency such as NEXUS GEO, which makes Hypervisible. GEO complements SEO: SEO ranks a page in Google's links, GEO gets a brand named in an AI's answer.
